Why this is hard
Long manuscripts have problems that short documents do not.
Getting from a finished manuscript to KDP-ready files means using three or four different tools: a formatter for print, a converter for EPUB, a word processor for DOCX, and a calculator for margins. Each tool can introduce errors.
KDP has specific requirements. Print PDFs need embedded fonts, no crop marks, and gutter margins that scale with page count. Kindle EPUB needs to be reflowable, not fixed-layout. Getting any of this wrong means KDP rejects your file or the printed book looks wrong.

Before every export, a readiness check reports missing chapters, placeholder text, unresolved conflicts, unsupported claims, duplicate titles, and missing front matter.
You choose the format, trim size, and options. You can override readiness warnings, but they stay on the export record. You set default print and Kindle presets per project.
