Search works across formatted text, keeps temporary highlights out of the manuscript, and supports next, previous, wraparound, and editing while search is open. Select one or more blocks and choose a language to create a syntax-highlighted code block with indentation that continues naturally as you write. Code blocks support paired brackets and quotes, direct copying, and line wrapping without changing the stored code. Typewriter mode keeps your writing position centered, selection metrics show words, characters, and estimated reading time, and a chapter navigator provides quick movement through the book. Private notes and bookmarks stay in the browser and never enter the manuscript, continuity, or export system. Book search finds passages across the full manuscript and opens the destination read-only until you choose to edit it. Right-click selected text for a context menu: Refine with AI, Expand, Condense, Rewrite, Validate Claim, or Brainstorm. Section Actions adds more: continue from cursor, insert an example, insert an exercise, improve a transition, add sensory detail, add explanation, add demonstration. Every AI proposal arrives as a side-by-side diff with Accept and Reject. A chapter-local recovery buffer protects edits before server save, retries failed saves, and asks whether to recover a newer local draft after restart. If the server changed while local writing was pending, Inkloom preserves both histories and offers to save the local work as a new version.
